The Foundation Board
Adam BARTOSZ - ethnologist, graduated of the Jagiellonian University, Director of the Regional Museum in Tarnów, author of numerous publications dedicated to Jewish history in Tarnów and Małopolska Region, as well as to the Sinti and Roma history; President of the Committee for Renovation of Jewish Monuments in Tarnów.

Prof. Jan BŁOŃSKI, Professor emeritus of the History of Polish Literature at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. His many publications include the essay "Biedni Polacy patrz± na getto" ("The Poor Poles Look at the Ghetto"), a landmark in the dialogue on Polish-Jewish relations, published in the Catholic weekly Tygodnik Powszechny in 1987, and later in English in Polin, vol. 2, and a collection of essays dealing with Polish - Jewish relations, under the same title. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation. Since 2001 Chairman of the Judaica Foundation Board.

Dr. Eugeniusz DUDA, director of the Jewish Museum in Cracow. Author of several books on Jewish Cracow. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation.

Prof. Józef A. GIEROWSKI, Professor emeritus of History at the Jagiellonian University. Between 1981 and 1986, Rector of the Jagiellonian University. Organizer and director of the Research Center on Jewish History and Culture in Poland at the Jagiellonian University. Author of 300 publications. Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Letters. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation. Chairman of the Judaica Foundation Board from 1991 until 2001.

Prof. Dr. Józef Krzysztof GIEROWSKI, a lawyer and psychologist, graduated of the Jagiellonian University, Head of the Division for Medical Psychology of the Chair of Psychiatry of the Collegium Medicum at the Jagiellonian University; one of the founders of the European Research Group for Social and Forensic Psychiatry in Maastricht and member of the Commission of Psychology of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Krakow.

Pastor Joern-Erik GUTHEIL, an Evangelical Pastor, member of the Evangelical Church Board in Rhineland, Germany.

Dr. Bogusław KRASNOWOLSKI, art historian, author of many publications about the Kazimierz history and the Kazimierz history of architecture and urban planning. Vice-Chairman of the Civic Committee for Renovation of Historical Monuments in Cracow. Lecturer at the Fine Art Academy and Teachers' Academy in Cracow.

Rev. Stanisław MUSIAŁ SJ, essayist writing for the Catholic weekly Tygodnik Powszechny. Author of many articles on Polish-Jewish relations. He participated in the Geneva meetings (1986, 1987) concerning the Carmelite convent at Auschwitz.

Dr. Richard O. ORES, born in Cracow. Survivor from the Cracow ghetto. A phycisian by profession. Now lives in New York.

Dr. Franciszek PALOWSKI, graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Polish Literature, studied journalism at Columbia University, New York. For 20 years a journalist of Cracow Television, cooperating with a number of newspapers and magazines. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation. Since 2001 Vice-Chairman of the Judaica Foundation Board.

Lilly POHLMAN, born in Cracow. Survived World War II in hiding in Lwów. Since 1946 in London.

Michał SOBELMAN, born in Sosnowiec, emigrated with his father to Israel in 1969. After graduating in history at the Hebrew University, he worked there as a researcher until 1992. In 1987 he came to Poland as a UNESCO exchange post-graduate student to study at the Silesian University. Since 1992, together with his wife he has lived in Poland, working for the Jewish Agency and in the Israeli Embassy in Warsaw. He is a recognized translator of Hebrew works into Polish, and a documentary film maker. In 2003 he was awarded the POLCUL prize by the Foundation to Promote Independent Polish Culture.

Rafael F. SCHARF, graduate of the Hebrew High School in Cracow and the Jagiellonian University. Member of the editorial board of The Jewish Quarterly. Visiting lecturer at the University of Giessen and the Jagiellonian University. Author of numerous publications on Jewish subjects. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation. Since 2001 Vice-Chairman of the Judaica Foundation Board.

Piotr SYMONON a lawyer, graduated of the Jagiellonian University and postgraduate program of European Administration. He works in the Krakow Mayor’s Office.

Malgorzata Walczak served on the Cracow City Council in 1990- 1994. She worked on the team that developed the Kazimierz Revitalization Action Plan under the European Union ECOS Program, and in 1994-2000 she was Program Coordinator of the Kazimierz Local Office. Presently she is Vice-Chair of the Royal Town of Kazimierz Society, and a member of the Jewish Culture Festival Association. Ms Walczak graduated from the Jagiellonian University with a degree in mathematics. She works as a professional English translator, and has lived in Kazimierz since 1961.

Prof. Jacek WO¬NIAKOWSKI, Professor emeritus of the Catholic University in Lublin. Vice-Chairman of the Polish National UNESCO Committee, Chairman of the Board of the International Cultural Center in Cracow, member of the European Academy in Cracow. Founding member of the Judaica Foundation.
