62nd ANNIVERSARY OF THE KL AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU LIBERATION
The Portraitist - presentation of the documentary film by Ireneusz Dobrowolski about Wilhelm Brasse, a photographer in KL Auschwitz. Photos of Auschwitz inmates appearing for 60 years in books and encyclopedias are by rule unsigned and treated as anonymous. But they do have an author - 89-year-old Wilhelm Brasse residing in Żywiec, who for years has tried to forget about the hell he once photographed day by day. The documentary film maker Ireneusz Dobrowolski had managed to convince Mr. Brasse to tell his story in front of a camera. (in Polish, 55 minutes)
