Hope is the Last to Die
- screening of the film by Tadeusz Wudzki, 1992, 47 min. Halina Birenbaum, residing in Israel since 1946, saved as a child from the Holocaust, tells a passionate and dramatic story about the extermination of the Jewish nation by the Nazis in the years 1939 -1945.




Monday, January 21st, 6:00 p.m.

And Along Came Tourists
- screening of the film directed by Robert Thalheim, 2007, 85 min., starring Sven Lehnert. The filmmaker tells a story about his stay as a volunteer in Oświęcim/Auschwitz in the 1980s.




Tuesday, January 22nd, 6:00 p.m.

4th International Socio-Political Poster Biennale at the International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim 2012
- post-competition vernissage of works organized jointly with the Centre in Oświęcim.




Thursday, January 24th, 6:00 p.m.

Europe According to Auschwitz
- meeting with Marek Miller, author of the Project Europe According to Auschwitz, created within the framework of the project coordinated by the Report Laboratory of Warsaw University, and screening of a documentary film from the series titled The Auschwitz Chronicle.

The Auschwitz Chronicle
- screening of documentaries created within the Project Europe According to Auschwitz at the Report Laboratory of Warsaw University.




Tuesday, January 29th, 6:00 p.m.

Memory Exercises
- meeting devoted to the memory of the late former inmates of KL Auschwitz-Birkenau:
Henryk Mandelbaum (1922-2008), camp number 181970, escaped from the death march in January 1945;
August Kowalczyk (1921-2012), camp number 6804, in 1942, managed to escape from the penal company;
and Wilhelm Brasse (1917-2012), camp number 3444, who was a camp photographer at Auschwitz.
The meeting will be moderated by Leszek Szuster, Director of the International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim.




Wednesday, January 30th, 6:00 p.m.

Turowicz' Circle: The paper, the Times, and the People
- promotion of the book by Joanna Podsadecka, Witold Bereś, and Krzysztof Burnetko, published by Fundacja Świat ma sens, 2012, and meeting with the authors.
