WW II in Movies - An Alternative Look - lecture by Prof. Tadeusz Lubelski. Eroica - a heroic symphony in two parts, and part 3, the Nun - war drama directed by Andrzej Munk, starring Edward Dziewoński, Kazimierz Rudzki, Tadeusz Janczar, Teresa Szmigielówna (1957, 130 min.). The film is one of the top achievements of the "Polish cinematic school" and a settling of scores with mythologizing of WWII. Winner of Grand Prix at Mar Del Plata Festival and the "Warsaw Siren" Prize of the Polish Film Critics.

To Be or Not to Be - war comedy whose action takes place in the occupied Warsaw, directed by Alan Johnson, starring Mel Brooks (USA, 1983, 108 min.).
