Charitable concert - to benefit schools in Warmia-Masuria Province, organized by Cracow high school students under the patronage of the Center for Human Rights. Concert performed by the HASKALA KLEZMER BAND: Duda ¦MIETANA-KURASIEWICZ (violin), Paweł KURASIEWICZ (clarinette), Dominik WYWROCKI (double bass), Bogusław ZIĘBA (accordion) and Rafał TARCHOLIK (percussion). Sponsorship coupons will be sold instead of tickets.

Qumaranology in Poland - Achievements and Perspectives - lecture by Dr. Zdzisław KAPERA, Oriental Institute of the Jagiel-lonian University.

Chamber music concert performed by the REINER TRIO: Roman REINER (violin), Barbara ŁYPIK-SOBANIEC (cello) and Sławomir CIERPIK (piano), on the occasion of the 10 th anniversary of the Reiner Trio ensemble. The program includes Jewish songs in classical arrangements.

John Paul II, in memoriam - meeting devoted to the late Pope and his legacy, with Artur DOMOSŁAWSKI, Dr. Stanisław KRAJEWSKI, Dominik MORAWSKI and Jan TURNAU.

Film showing: John Paul II in the Holy Land - documentary film about the pilgrimage of Pope John Paul II to Israel, the Palestinian Autonomous Area, Jordan and Egypt in 2000 (in Polish, 100 min.).

Meeting with Amos OZ, Israeli writer, and presentation of the Polish translation of his autobiographical novel A Story About Love and Death . Meeting organized jointly with the Israeli Embassy in Warsaw and Muza SA Publishing House.




Friday, May 20 th , 6:00 p.m.

Film showing: Beyond Hitler's Grasp by Nitzan AVIRAM (Israel) and discussion of Bulgarian Jewry, with David PELEG, Israeli Ambassador to Poland, Michael BAR-ZOHAR, member of the Knesset and Israeli writer, and Boryana PUNCZEWA, Director of the Bulgarian Culture Institute in Warsaw.
