PROGRAM REPORT 2000
Between January 1st and December 31st, 2000, 364 events took place at
the Center for Jewish Culture in Kazimierz, Cracow. Among them were
186 program events (lectures, concerts, exhibitions, film showings,
book presentations, conferences, seminars and discussions), 74 VIP-visits,
83 school and tourist group visits, as well as 21 commercial events.
On May 13th, the two thousandth event took place at the Center for Jewish Culture. It was a presentation of the second edition of the Rafael F. Scharf's book "Poland, What Have I To Do With Thee… Essays Without Prejudice…" and concert of the Jewish music by Lepold Kozlowski, Jacek Cygan, Renata Swierczynska, Katarzyna Zielinska and Andrzej Róg.
Between August 2nd and August 15th, 2000, the second edition of the German-language version of the Summer Program Retracing Jewish Heritage in Galicia was organized by the Judaica Foundation - Center for Jewish Culture.
In December 2000, the Israeli Embassy in Warsaw organized at the Center for Jewish Culture the ceremony of conferring the medals Righteous Among the Nations to the Poles, who helped to rescue Jews during the WWII.
